Mission Statement
Life Skills at Rye Junior High School is a combination of the traditional study of Family and Consumer Science (FACS) and a comprehensive Health program.
The goal of the course is to provide opportunities for students to develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors needed to:
*Become responsible citizens and leaders in family, community, and work settings.
*Promote optimal nutrition and wellness across the life span.
*Balance personal, home, family, and work lives.
*Explore possible career choices and the path to success
*Appreciate human worth and accept responsibility for one's actions and success in family and work life.
As a discipline, Life Skills integrates diverse content areas such as food, nutrition, clothing, health and human development into a cohesive body of knowledge that addresses the issues facing individuals in an ever-changing world.
